An Unofficial Officials Clinic!

Looking to get ready for no minors?

Houston Roller Derby is hosting an unofficial Officials Clinic on Saturday November 17 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. It will be a full day of skating, the mechanics of officiating a bout —everything from staffing, to team work, to outside pack referee positioning, and an introduction to the No Minors rule set!

What could be better? 2 hours scrimmaging!
Cost for six hours of instruction and officiating at one or both scrimmages is $40 for Refs and NSOs.

Are you a Skater, hoping to get in on that scrimmage action? Newer to the game or interested in getting in some extra track time? Love mashing up and helping Refs and NSOs stay on top of their game?
We’re looking for you! We’ll have two scrimmages open to the first 28 skaters who sign up. You must bring a Black and a White jersey with your number (4 inches) on the back. You may schedule yourself for one or both scrimmages - $10 for one scrimmage, $15 for both. If you do not have WFTDA insurance, there will be a $10 USARS fee for the one-day pass.

But wait! There’s more!
And it’s the best part – The scrimmages will be run with the NEW no minors rule set. Derby is evolving and you better be ready to evolve with it. You must also attend the “Deep Dive Into No-Minors” session at HIS at 12:30 p.m.

The Short and Sweet:
9:00-11:00 a.m. Skating Officials on the Track at HIS
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Break out clinics for Officials and Lunch at Mamacita’s Mexican Place
o Refs
o NSOs
12:30-1:30 p.m. Deep Dive into No-Minors
o Refs
o NSOs
o Skaters MUST attend to be cleared for scrimmage
2:00-3:00 p.m. Scrimmage 1
3:00-4:00 p.m. Scrimmage 2

-Skaters $10 for one scrimmage, $15 for both.
$10 USARS pass for non-WFTDA insured skaters
